Why the Left Fears the Significant and Attractive Bill

Democrats Face Backlash Amidst LA Riots

As chaos unfolded in Los Angeles, Democrats had a chance to openly reject the sort of extremism that might haunt them in the upcoming November elections. Rioters engaged in violent acts, including assaults on police and destruction of both public and private property. It really seemed like a moment for Democrats to take a strong stand—condemning the violence, reiterating their support for law enforcement, and aligning with the values of average Americans.

Instead, they appeared to double down on their approach. Perhaps it’s a reflection of their dwindling options.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) dismissed the situation, referring to the riot as “very small” and instead encouraged more protests, insisting, “We have to be on the streets.” Meanwhile, Rep. Isla Hirsi, daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), made a controversial statement, calling for “Death to the Colonial Empire… From LA to Rafa.” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) seemingly turned her denial of entry into a performance about race, claiming the protests revealed systemic issues.

During the unrest, demonstrators waved Mexican flags and burned American flags. Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) criticized President Trump amid the turmoil. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass justified the rioters’ actions by saying they were acting out of fear. Even former Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that the protests were “overwhelmingly peaceful,” despite the scenes of violence.

Many people are left questioning whether Democrats will again tolerate violent, anti-American actions. This isn’t surprising—sometimes the simplest explanations are the most accurate. It feels like their choice is limited to embracing the chaos stirred by their supporters while continuing to denounce Trump, a narrative they’ve followed for years.

Such actions reflect movements that, quite frankly, seem lost and lack direction after facing significant rejection in recent elections. Their remaining base appears to consist mostly of masked criminals attacking police and wreaking havoc in cities. As a result, the parties find themselves in a position where they must call on law enforcement to confront these disruptive elements, rather than tackling the broader issues at play.

That’s why Trump’s aggressive immigration policies present a significant challenge for the left. With large numbers of illegal immigrants being detained or removed, a million more are reported to have self-deported under heightened enforcement. The numbers of daily arrests by ICE continue to rise. And, troublingly for those favoring open borders, the deportation agenda has remained popular, even among legal immigrants.

The Democrats clearly demonstrated their position when faced with the choice of supporting American citizens or illegal immigrants, opting for the latter in almost every instance. They appear to align themselves with violent demonstrators and illegal immigrants waving Mexican flags, while seemingly neglecting the importance of American symbols. Should their potential voting base face deportation, it could have long-term consequences for the party in future elections.

This law allocated over $50 billion to bolster Trump’s immigration agenda, enhancing technology for customs and border protection and even funding the completion of a border wall. Crucially, it allows for the hiring of 10,000 new ICE agents. With these resources, we’ve seen deportation numbers soar past a million annually.

Maybe the Democrats’ reluctance to condemn these riots stems from their unwillingness to acknowledge the implications of a significant deportation effort. Their focus has seemed primarily on potential voters among those who have crossed the border illegally while ignoring the issues associated with illegal immigration that have come to define Biden’s presidency.

Right now, the potential base for Democratic voters is clouded in protests and riots, which doesn’t paint a promising picture for future elections. It seems they’re deeply concerned—that’s why the unrest in LA is escalating.

What was once just a significant piece of legislation now stands as a crucial necessity in response to growing unrest. It’s vital that the Senate passes this bill so it can be signed into law by Trump; it would protect Americans and, in doing so, potentially dismantle the far-left agenda that’s proving increasingly divisive.

If 53 Senate Republicans don’t want to witness another summer filled with violent protests from illegal aliens, the path is clear: support the bill, secure the funds for mass deportation, and regain control.
