The 2025 NFL Playoffs have begun, with six games in the Wild Card Round taking place this weekend. The schedule opens with the Texans hosting the Chargers on Saturday afternoon and concludes with the Rams taking on the Vikings on Monday night.
Playoff football offers some more fantasy football opportunities. There's daily fantasy football, with plenty of gaming options, and playoff fantasy football, which is a bit like traditional regular season fantasy football.
The opening game will feature some big names at wide receiver. It's been a record-setting year for wide receivers, and many big names are scheduled to be in action this weekend. Justin Jefferson is the leading scorer among wide receivers in most fantasy leagues, or just behind him, and will open the season on the road against the Rams. Mike Evans is second all-time in terms of consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, and will face his managers at home with the possibility of a penalty shootout.
The weekend begins with an up-and-coming rookie in the spotlight as Ladd McConkie makes his playoff debut against the Texans. Fellow rookie Keon Coleman is scheduled to play Sunday when the Bills host the Broncos. Rookie Xavier Worthy will be available next week when the Chiefs receive a bye.
Injuries to monitor
Quentin Johnston/Joshua Palmer, Chargers — Johnston was listed as restricted with a thigh injury on Tuesday, but was demoted to DNP with an additional illness designation on Wednesday. He returned to limited practice on Thursday, but is listed as questionable for Saturday's game. Palmer did not practice at all this week and was sidelined. These injuries were a bit of a shock to Delius Davis.
Zai Flowers, Ravens — Flowers sprained his knee in Week 18, and the team sidelined him in Week 18. He has been practicing as a DNP all week, Ian Rapoport previously reported He was “underwhelming'' to play. in the wild card round.
Christian Watson, Packers — Watson injured his knee, and head coach Matt LaFleur said “not good” when asked about the injury. Reportedly, At least a torn ACL.
DFS value play
Flowers' injury opened the door for Rashod Bateman. Even if Flowers were healthy, Bateman would be an interesting option for the Steelers, although Mark Andrews would have already done a lot of the work.
For the Packers vs. Eagles, Christian Watson's injury means either Jaden Reed, Romeo Dowse or Dontaevion Wicks could be in line for a breakout game. Tight end Tucker Craft will likely see more DFS play due to Watson's injury, but he could roll the dice on either Reed, Dubs or Wicks against the Eagles. My bet would be Doo.
Amari Cooper hasn't played much since joining the Bills, but he's incredibly talented and will be joining the Bills on the cheap this weekend.
