Widow of firefighter killed at Trump rally shooting refuses to take Biden call: ‘He would not have wanted me to talk to him’

The widow of a firefighter shot and killed during an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump says she refused to accept a call from President Joe Biden because that’s what her husband wanted.

“He didn’t do anything wrong to my husband. A mean 20-year-old boy did it.”

Helen Comperatore is New York Post She said Biden tried to call her after her husband, Corey Comperatore, was killed at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

“I didn’t speak to Mr. Biden,” she said Monday. “I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband is a staunch Republican and he wouldn’t have wanted me to talk to him.”

Her husband was killed and two others were seriously injured when suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks allegedly attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump while he was speaking at a rally.

She also said she doesn’t blame Biden for her husband’s death.

“I have no ill will towards Joe Biden. I’m not a political person,” she said.

“I support Trump, I will vote for him, but I have no ill will towards Biden,” she added. “He did nothing wrong to my husband. That’s what a sneaky 20-year-old kid did.”

At the rally, Corey Comperatore was hailed as a hero after his daughter told him he died trying to protect herself and his family.

“He shielded me from bullets flying towards us. He loved his family. He loved us so much he would take a real bullet for us,” wrote the victim’s daughter, Allison Comperatore.
