Widow seeks answers a year after deadly shooting at Trump rally

Widow Seeks Accountability from Secret Service After Husband’s Murder at Trump Rally

One year after Corey Comperatore’s tragic death at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, his widow, Helen Comperatore, is calling for accountability from the Secret Service.

“We all just sat there. Our blood is on their hands. I’m furious. I’ve lost the love of my life, and everything’s been shattered,” Helen shared with reporters.

The Secret Service has confirmed that several issues arose when 20-year-old gunman Tohmask Look accessed the roof and fired eight shots, which led to Comperatore’s death and injured three others, including then-President Donald Trump.

“Why Butler? Why did they miss so many signs? How could they not consider the roof was vulnerable? I absolutely have the right to speak with them. They need to hear me out,” she expressed, frustration evident in her tone.

Susie Wills, who worked with Trump, recalled the harrowing moments of the assassination attempt, initially believing the president had been killed.

Investigators confirmed that Look had a history of planning attacks and had been stockpiling weapons and creating explosives over an extended period.

“What would you say to Thomas Crooks’ parents if you had the chance?” a reporter asked Helen, piquing her contemplation.

“I don’t know. I’d probably tell them to get help. It’s crucial they acknowledge the issue,” she responded thoughtfully.

Trump mentioned a detailed report on the shooting will eventually be released, though a timeline remains uncertain.

In the wake of the incident, six Secret Service agents have reportedly been suspended without pay or benefits.
