A manhunt is ongoing as authorities are urgently searching for the wife of a Southern California fire chief, and it turns out he's stabbed and killed inside her home.
On Thursday, the San Diego Sheriff's Office announced that 53-year-old Yolanda Malody is being sought in connection with the brutal murder of his wife, Calfire Captain Rebecca “Beck” Malody.
“In a critical development, the sheriff's murder detective identified the suspect in this case. The suspect is Yolanda Malodi, also known as Yolanda Orangenichsack,” the Sheriff's Office said. I said that.
The horrifying discovery occurred on the evening of February 17th, when he was called to Malodis's house to report an attack with a deadly weapon.

Deputies discovered Rebecca Malodi, who suffered multiple stab wounds, and said officials were declared dead at the scene despite the measures to save her.
The prosecutor's office conducted an autopsy and decided how to kill him.
Authorities initially said they were treating the incident as a possible domestic violence incident, indicating that the captain may know the suspect.
Yolanda Malodi is 5'2″ tall, weighs 166 pounds and is described as brown hair.
Police said the motive for the murder has not yet been determined.
“The motives and circumstances surrounding the murders remain unknown at present, and detectives are eager to gather more information to establish the facts of the case,” the sheriff's office said.

Yolanda Malodi was accused of murder in San Bernardino County in 2000, allegedly killed a man. Local Station CBS8. She later pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter charges and was sentenced to 13 years and eight months, according to the station. She was placed in prison from February 2004 to November 2013.
Rebecca Malody worked for more than 30 years, primarily in Riverside County with Cal Fire and began as a volunteer in Moreno Valley. Most recently, authorities confirmed that she helped her fight Eton Fire.
“The tragic loss of Captain Malody is grieving her family, friends and her Calfire family,” Calfire wrote in an X's post.
Cal Fire Riverside also admitted to Malody's death, saying her death was a “deep loss.”
“Her legacy of mentorship, service and dedication will be felt for years to come. Her death is a huge loss to her family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of working with her.” the department wrote in their statement. Facebook page.

According to a social media post, Rebecca and Yolanda Malodi have been together since 2022.

“I don't need any special opportunities to express my love for my wonderful wife. I'm very fortunate to marry someone who loves me. She really helps me better. Yolanda Malodi shared it in a 2023 Instagram post.
“I love my beautiful wife,” Rebecca Malody commented on the post.
Authorities said Rebecca Malodi is scheduled to retire later this year.
