The spouse of Super Bowl champion receiver Phillip Dorsett has gained firsthand experience in the challenges faced by professional athletes. Dorsett, originally a first-round pick for the Indianapolis Colts in 2015, has had a rollercoaster career, playing for eight different teams. Currently, he’s part of the practice squad for the Las Vegas Raiders after spending time with the Seattle Seahawks as well.
Moriah Dorsett recently shared her insights on adapting to life in the NFL. She remarked that, while moving frequently has been tough, it has also given her the chance to experience new cities—a prospect she never expected. “I think I’ve become somewhat of a professional mover at this point,” she expressed. “Initially, my transition from Indianapolis to New England was managed by the team, but everything after that has been on me.”
Moriah opened up about how she leaned on her parents for support during the moving process but emphasized that she’s taking her time before making any further relocations. She mentioned that typically, she waits until Dorsett joins a new team before making any significant moves. “With the previous time we were in Las Vegas, we got settled, and then, just five days before the season kicked off, he was traded to the Denver Broncos,” she recalled, which surely must have been quite stressful.
As for Phillip Dorsett, he’s still working to secure a spot on the Raiders’ main roster, having not participated in a regular-season game since 2023. Over his career, he has made 151 catches, accounting for 2,001 yards and 12 touchdowns across 94 games. He was part of the New England Patriots team that triumphed in the Super Bowl in 2018.
Throughout his journey, he has played for teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, not to mention his time with the Atlanta Falcons. The unpredictability of the NFL can be daunting, but for Moriah, it’s become part of their shared experience. Perhaps it’s not just about the football for her; it’s about the life they are building together amidst all the changes.
