Will Compton Questions His Wedding Invitation Status
So, it seems like Will Compton might have been on the sidelines when it came to the guest list for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s recent wedding.
Held at Madison Square Garden this past weekend, the wedding gathered around 1,000 attendees, leaving some people, including former NFL player and podcast host Compton, a bit puzzled. “Honestly, I didn’t think anything of it,” Compton mentioned on his podcast “Wake Up Barstool.” He went on to say, “I didn’t get an invitation even though I was in Italy. I keep seeing all these photos. Dean Blandino got an invite? Is this even real?”
After getting a nod from Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, Compton expressed his surprise for not being invited, especially since he has known Kelce since his own playing days. “I kind of expected to be there just looking at all the people who were,” he told Portnoy, who found the whole situation intriguing.
Blandino, a former NFL officiating VP, is now a rules analyst at Fox Sports and frequently shares insights on game rules. Other attendees included Mike Vrabel and his wife Jen, along with musician Machine Gun Kelly, and actor Jason Sudeikis, among others.
“Everyone at Tight End University was present and invited,” Portnoy added, which makes you wonder—how did Compton miss out?
The Tight End University event, by the way, takes place in Nashville and serves as a kind of offseason gathering for pro, retired, and college players. It’s co-founded by Kelce, alongside George Kittle and Greg Olsen, who transitioned into broadcasting after retiring from football.
Compton did make an appearance at Tight End University this year with his podcast partner, Taylor Lewan. But apparently, that wasn’t enough to secure him a spot at the wedding.
