Will Smith Debuts Inspirational New Song ‘You Can Make It’ at BET Awards

Actor and rap artist Will Smith performed with a choir at the BET Awards on Sunday night.

Smith, 53, released a new song, “It will work.“Flying” featuring Haitian-American singer Friday and the Sunday Service Choir. This single was also released on Friday, June 28th.

“The darker the hell we have to endure/The brighter the heaven we can enjoy/The harder we fall, the higher we soar/When the devil closes the door, God opens a window,” Smith raps, sounding a lot like Flesh Preacher.

“Trust me, they tried to make Will Smith bleed/I look in the rearview mirror and I see adversity was a gift/Gifts that carry me to greater heights I need faith/So dry your eyes and you’ll find a way,” he continues.

by New York PostThis marked Smith’s first appearance at an awards show since the infamous incident at the 2022 Grammy Awards, when Smith infamously slapped comedian Chris Rock after Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Last month, Smith starred opposite Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys 2: Ride or Die, the fourth film in the Bad Boys series.

Just days before the BET Awards, Smith announced that he would be performing the single at the show, and spoke about how music helped him through some of his darkest times.

“When I’ve been through my darkest times, music has always encouraged me and helped me grow. I truly hope that music can do the same for you and bring you the joy and light you deserve,” he said. I have written.

The Sunday Service Choir released a similar statement on social media.

“Who hasn’t been in a dark place? Who hasn’t been through fire? What connects us is knowing you’re not alone! @willsmith reminds us of that common connection! There are life lessons in dark places, if there’s a will!” group I have written.

“Travel not only brings healing, it also brings growth and wisdom. I’m honored to collaborate with @willsmith and @fridayy on this song as we continue to inspire the world with 4 simple words that will change your life… You can make it‼️”
