Will there be a new episode of ‘Pluribus’ this week on Apple TV? Information on Season 2 of ‘Pluribus’

It’s been just over two weeks since the airing of pluribus Episode 9, where Carol Starka (Rhea Seehorn) faces a tough choice between love and responsibility. With Seehorn recently winning a Critics Choice Award—something totally deserved—fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter.

To offer a quick recap, Carol initially puts her world-saving ambitions on hold to explore a romantic connection with Zosia (Carolina Huydra). However, when she realizes “The Others” are still intent on manipulating the virus to target her, she heads back home, bringing along an atomic bomb for potential emergencies. She teams up again with Manusos Oviedo (Carlos Manuel Vesga) to find a way to reverse her “participation.” So, what’s next in the storyline? When will fans get to see it?

Are there any new episodes of pluribus airing this week? I mean, what about Thursday, January 8th, or Friday, January 9th? Is Episode 10 available? How many episodes are packed into pluribus Season 1? And what’s the outlook for Season 2? Here’s the scoop on what’s happening with pluribus, covering premiere dates, plot conclusions from Season 1, and more.

Is a new episode of pluribus dropping on Apple TV this week?

Unfortunately, there won’t be any new episodes this week. If fans were hoping for new content on January 8th or 9th, they’re out of luck. Why, you ask? Well…

How many episodes are in pluribus Season 1?

Much like retirement allowance, pluribus Season 1 features a total of nine episodes. Not eight, not ten—just nine!

Will there be a Episode 10 of pluribus on Apple TV?

Nope! A nine-episode season may not feel ideal, especially with the anticipation for Episode 10, but that’s how it is for Season 1. The finale aired on December 3rd, so where do we go from here?

Is pluribus getting a Season 2 on Apple TV?

Yes, indeed! In case you missed it, pluribus is confirmed for Season 2. In fact, the renewal for a second season happened even before Season 1 premiered, which makes sense given its immediate success as the most-watched show on Apple TV.

What about the premiere date for pluribus Season 2? When can we expect new episodes?

As of now, there isn’t a specific premiere date for Season 2. It looks like it might be a while before new episodes roll out. Seehorn mentioned that the writers are still working on Season 2. According to reports, it could take another two to two-and-a-half years before we see Season 2 air, which isn’t exactly ideal. But news can always change, so let’s keep an eye out for updates from Gilligan and the team.

What’s in store for pluribus Season 2?

With Vince Gilligan at the helm, anything can go down, and we’re left anticipating twists and surprises. We know Season 2 will continue to follow Carol and Manusos as they try to save the world—and themselves—from their dire circumstances. With Carol’s stem cells taken without her consent, time is ticking before “The Others” perfect their virus against her.

In my chat with Samba Schutte, who plays Mr. Diabaté, I got the impression that Season 2 might delve deeper into the experiences of the other Immunes beyond just Carol. I mean, wouldn’t it be interesting to get some context or flashbacks? (We miss you, Lakshmi!) Plus, even though Zosia left Carol in the finale, I’m hopeful we’ll get more of her story in the upcoming season. We definitely have a whole bunch of unresolved questions, and we’re eager for even more of what made Season 1 fantastic—maybe with some bold twists added in.

Will there be a Season 3 (and beyond) for pluribus?

While there hasn’t been any official announcement from Apple TV, pluribus has already set records as their most-watched show, surpassing titles like retirement allowance and ted lasso. It seems likely that Apple TV will keep investing in pluribus for as long as possible.

Gilligan, in a recent conversation, indicated he envisions the show potentially running for four seasons. He mentioned that if asked right now, that seems like a reasonable length. His goal apparently revolves around reaching about 40 episodes. Interestingly, he also said he plans to keep going as long as Rhea Seehorn is on board. So, I’m curious—how long does Mr. Seehorn wish to keep this going? Is it ten seasons she’s hoping for?

Looking back at Gilligan’s earlier works, it seems he originally thought to wrap things up sooner. breaking bad had five seasons while Better Call Saul ran for six. So, it’s clear that the storytelling can extend beyond initial expectations. Here’s to hoping pluribus enjoys a long duration in the streaming landscape.
