‘Will You Accept Those Results?’: Lara Trump Snaps Back At CNN Host Over Accepting Election Outcome

Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-Chair Lara Trump on Sunday fired back at CNN guest host Casey Hunt about accepting the results of the 2024 election.

Lara Trump appeared on “State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash” to discuss the Republican National Committee’s position on former President Donald Trump’s recent conviction and her father-in-law’s sentencing, scheduled for July 11. Hunt noted that other Republicans have had mixed reactions to the possible outcome of the 2024 election, leading the CNN guest host to ask if Lara Trump would accept the outcome. “Of course, if this is a free, fair and transparent election, then yes. In fact, as the Republican National Committee, we are committed to making sure that happens. We are working overtime to make sure every American – Republican, Democrat and Independent – is happy with our election process. Because, Casey, we cannot have another election like 2020, where half the country was left with big questions about what happened and no answers. That’s not who we are as a country. We need transparency,” Lara Trump said.

“If Joe Biden wins, you’ll…” Hunt tried.

“If it’s a free and fair election, then of course we’ll accept it. But will you accept it? If Donald Trump wins, will you accept the result? That’s the real question. Everybody’s saying will you accept the result? Of course you will, but we want a free election,” Lara Trump continued.

“There was no evidence of widespread fraud that would have altered the ultimate outcome in 2020,” Hunt interjected.

“Absolutely not. Most of those cases were dismissed due to clerical errors. In fact, if you look at the people who were told that the Hunter Biden laptop story was a fake story, enough of those people would have voted against Joe Biden and for Donald Trump. That alone would have swayed the outcome of the election. That alone would have been enough,” Lara Trump responded.

“But the public really wants to know: What happened across the country? We haven’t had the answer to that. The answer is yes, if we feel this election was free, fair and transparent, we will accept the results. And we’re working overtime to make sure that happens.”

After the 2020 election, voters across the United States questioned the election results at the time and the lack of transparency in many states, especially key battleground states. Before the election, a New York Post report about President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, leaked emails from a laptop that purportedly showed evidence of fraud and other lewd activities. However, social media platforms such as Twitter censored the information, leading Democrats to claim that the laptop was a Russian-sponsored disinformation campaign. Polls suggest the impact of blocking the news may have influenced the outcome of the 2020 election, with many Americans saying they would have voted differently if they had known about the laptop before the election. carried out A survey by the New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute for Policy and Politics found that 47% of voters said that if they had known before the election that the contents of the laptop were real and not ‘fake’, it would have changed their voting decision, including more than two-thirds of Democrats surveyed.
