Prince William and Kate Middleton Move to New Home
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—have officially relocated to a new residence.
The family has moved to Forest Lodge, located in Windsor Great Park. This transition took place during the school half-term, as reported.
There hasn’t been a response yet from Kensington Palace regarding this change.
In August, it was revealed that two families living near the royal family’s new spacious eight-bedroom home were asked to leave beforehand.
Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner expressed surprise that neighbors were required to vacate, suggesting this was done to maintain privacy for the family.
Evictions Amid the Move
According to sources who spoke to the Daily Mail, the evicted families were caught off guard by the request to leave. They were informed they needed to relocate but were given a different location to move to.
Turner pointed out that living so close to the royal residence might not be ideal for just anyone. “If there’s any royalty there,” he mentioned, “you wouldn’t want just anyone living in those houses.”
Richard Fitzwilliams, another royal expert, indicated that the relocations were likely for security purposes, noting that others can still reside on “Crown Estate Land.”
This situation has stirred concerns about privacy and safety in the surrounding neighborhoods. Some residents in the nearby Cranbourne Hall Residential Park are apprehensive that the new royal home will reduce the sense of personal space they had.
Community Reactions
Jean Reeve, a local resident, shared her hopes in August, wishing for the family to be left alone to enjoy their life quietly. She reflected on her previous home, noting that it felt just as public, something she finds unsettling.
Reeve emphasized the importance of privacy for the royal family, particularly since they have young children who need that space to grow up normally.
Interestingly, reports suggest that Prince William and Kate might not have any live-in staff at Forest Lodge. Their long-time nanny and a housekeeper may still be retained, but likely in smaller accommodations on the estate.
The royal family transitioned from their previous home, Adelaide Cottage, in 2022. At that time, the children began attending a local co-educational prep school.
It appears that the couple is indeed seeking a “fresh start” in this new setting.
