Willie Brown calls Trump helicopter story ‘creative fiction’

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown said a story about former President Trump nearly dying in a helicopter ride was untrue and a “fictional work.”

Trump, speaking at a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Thursday, said he and Brown had been on a helicopter ride that was forced to make an emergency landing.

“Well, I knew Willie Brown very well,” Trump said, claiming the two shared a wild helicopter ride.

“I thought maybe this was the end,” Trump said. “We were in a helicopter, heading to a location, and there was an emergency landing. It was not a comfortable landing.”

The former president said Brown said “horrible things” about Harris on the flight.

Brown disputed that claim. Chrono 4 That same day.

“I was doing what Donald does best – creative fiction,” he said with a laugh, according to the media.

Willie Brown, who helped Vice President Harris enter politics, told the outlet he has never done business with Trump.

“And secondly, I would never want to be in the same helicopter as him. There are too many people, including helicopter mechanics, who have some kind of agenda regarding him,” he said.

Others He disputed Trump’s story. California Governor Gavin Newsom (Democrat), who was on board the helicopter flight, also called Trump’s story “nonsense.”

The New York Times reported that former California Governor Jerry Brown was actually on board the plane.

“There was no emergency landing and there were no discussions about Kamala Harris,” Jerry Brown told The Times through a spokesman.

Willie Brown, 90, recently shared his thoughts on the fierce campaign that has unfolded since Harris took over after President Biden dropped out of the race.

Harris is one of Brown’s protégés – she and Brown dated in the 1990s and their relationship was used against her during the 2020 presidential nomination campaign.

Brown said he supports Harris’ campaign, telling the outlet on Thursday that she is a good friend, “really beautiful,” “very smart” and very successful.

“I’ve attended every campaign she’s been involved in and have supported her enthusiastically and will continue to do so,” he said, “and I look forward to the next 89 days.”

“I can’t wait to have her as president,” Brown said.

The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
