In an interview around the time of his 90th birthday last year, Nelson joked about retirement but said, “I’m always ready to come back. I like the bus. Everything I need is on the bus. I don’t have to get into a hotel room everywhere. It’s not so bad.” (Katherine Bomboy/NBC via Getty Images)
When asked if he ever thought about retiring from touring, Nelson replied, “Just kidding, I retire every time a tour finishes.”
