Wilmer-Hutchins HS shooting in Dallas prompts large police presence: report

Reports say a 17-year-old was shot dead and at least three people were injured in a “shooting incident” at Dallas High School.

Police were called to Wilmer Hutchins High School after receiving several shot calls on the school campus just after 1pm local time, according to FOX13.

According to the outlet, a 17-year-old boy was shot dead in his lower limbs and three other victims were taken to a local hospital.

The Dallas Independent School District said the campus is now safe and parents can reintegrate with evacuated students, according to a statement posted to X.

The shooting has been almost a year since a 17-year-old student shot a classmate in a school classroom.
