Important Events
Paolini won the match 3-0. She beats Keys from behind and sprints down the line like a monk. She’s totally in tune with herself and it’s impressive to watch. Meanwhile, in the second, Vekic beats Badosa to make it 2-1 after the first stroke.
Paolini is on the offensive. Given her opponent, there was nothing to say, and she quickly recorded a break to take a 2-0 lead, as she kept Keys going and looked the more confident player.
There are so many more! At the Centre, Emma Raducanu vs Lulu Sun and Emma Navarro (19) vs Coco Gauff (2) will close out the day’s action, while the top seeds will feature Jannik Sinner (1) vs Ben Shelton and Grizzly Dimitrov (10) vs Daniil Medvedev (5), with the final match set to be a highlight of the day.
On the second court, Paula Badosa and Donna Vekic started the game, and after 1 hour and 30 minutes, Carlos Alcaraz (3) and Hugo Humbert (16) came into the center.
Ok, let’s go – Paolini will serve.
Thanks, John Hello everyone, Jasmine Paolini and Madison Keys are pregnant ahead of what should be a great match.
Paolini has found herself this season as a skilled, determined and energetic player. But Keys is one of the best players not to win a Grand Slam in the last decade or so. There are many players less skilled than her. When she’s on her game, her power game is nearly irresistible. I’m not going to lie. She’s been a favorite player on this blog for years, so again, maybe it’s her time.
When it’s time to play actual tennis, I’ll let Daniel take over and run the court.
News from Wimbledon is that the sun is outand blue skies overhead. The fun must be about to begin.
Well, he was in the prime of his career in the mid to late 70’s.
Unfortunately nothing happens until 1pm UK time. Where is Cliff Richard when you need him?
The cover is removed and we are told action is imminent…
Email: “Hi John. Am I the only one who finds it frustrating that the Wimbledon website, app and twitter stream don’t seem to state the start time of off-court action? No match ever starts before the scheduled kick-off time. I’ll be following the Guardian for updates today. Best of luck from Mike in Winchester.”
It’s best not to play before noon.
Big shock? Or maybe Iga Swiatek, like Ivan Lendl did back in his day, realised he couldn’t play grass-court tennis?
Unfortunately, Saturday was not a good day for the intrepid Brit.
Andy Murray was the star on SaturdayIf you don’t remember Fred Perry, he’s the greatest British man of all time.
The rain at Wimbledon has finally stopped But there is hope that an outside court will take some action soon.
More information to complete the play order.

preamble
Welcome to our coverage of SW19 action on Midday Sunday. After a sad and sudden farewell to Andy Murray, play resumes and the round of 16 looms. Then we see Emma Ladakanu, who is dealing with a wrist problem, take on New Zealand’s Lulu Sun. The Americans dominate the women’s side, with Coco Gauff taking on Emma Navarro. We start with a match between Spain’s Paula Badosa and Croatia’s Donna Vekic. On the men’s side, we see some big names like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, followed by a big battle between Grigor Dimitrov and Daniil Medvedev.
I’ll save that and all the news here.
