Up first is the defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz. The world No 3 is coming off a French Open win and is looking to make back-to-back grand slam finals for the first time in his career.

Nearly every tennis fan in the world was hoping and expecting a rematch of the Roland Garros thriller between Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. But the world No 5 Daniil Medvedev had something to say about that, beating the Italian in a five sets in the quarter-final.

But, never fear! We do get a French Open rematch. That will come when Lorenzo Musetti takes on Novak Djokovic. Musetti, who has never made it past the fourth round at any slam, will hope that the lessons have been learned and he can get the better of Djokovic. The world No 2 got a pass straight through to the semi-final after Alex de Minaur was forced to forfeit their quarter-final due to injury.

I’ve become a fan of Medvedev’s because before I thought he played ugly, but now I see him as a really fun player from a tactical point of view (even though he still plays ugly).
How is he going to beat Carlito? I think the grass suits Med in this matchup. I expect some frustration tactics and dirty play.
Like you said, it’s a shame that Sinner vs Alcaraz hasn’t happened yet at Wimby, but there’s still time. Who do you think won?
Also, will Djokovic win in 5 games? Unlike other players, Musetti always seems to step up against Djokovic, but he’s not good enough yet. I hope he proves me wrong today.
I’m a big fan of both Alcaraz and Medvedev, so I’m not sure who will win today. I don’t think Alcaraz is as dominant as he was when he won Wimbledon last year, but he’s been steadily reaching this level this year. Can he get two more matches like this? His volleys are amazing!
Medvedev is also an interesting player. As you say, it can “look ugly” sometimes. But it is very effective. The way he chooses his timing to come to the net and toy with his opponents by forcing them into mistakes is sometimes spectacular. Of course, he is tall and thin, but… Move Today, a little more than he’s comfortable with.
The second semi-final is also going to be interesting. Djokovic hasn’t lost a Wimbledon semi-final since 2012. Musetti was only 10 years old! The fact that the Serb is still playing here after his knee injury is great. He’s also pretty well rested. Some players might not like the fact that he has an extra day that throws him off his rhythm, but at his age it could be an advantage.
I’m expecting two crackers!
Have you ever wondered what your favorite ATP Tour players are up to this summer? Well, wonder no more. The Tour is the Summer Song On social media.
There are also reggaeton lovers and fans of Twenty One Pilots, The Kid Laroi and Martin Garrix.
But the biggest surprise was Medvedev’s song choice: “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. I never thought I’d have anything in common with a professional tennis player, but there it is. I can’t get that song out of my head.
“He’s working late because he’s a server.”
How did these two get to this stage? Let’s take a look.
Daniil Medvedev:
1st round: Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3, 6-4, 6-2
2nd round vs. Alexandre Muller 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-4, 7-5
Third round: Jan-Lennard Struff 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3)
Round of 16 Grigor Dimitrov 5-3 win
Quarterfinals vs Jannik Sinner 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3
Carlos Alcaraz:
1st round: Mark Rajal 7-6 (3), 7-5, 6-2
2nd round vs Aleksandar Vukic 7-6 (5), 6-2, 6-2
Third round: Francis Tiafoe 5-7, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2
Round of 16 vs. Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5
Quarterfinals vs. Tommy Paul 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2
Alcaraz and Medvedev have met six times, with the Spaniard winning four of them. Their last meeting at a Grand Slam was in the semifinals of last year’s U.S. Open, where Medvedev won 7-6 (3), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Their last meeting on grass was in the semifinals of last year’s Wimbledon, where Alcaraz won 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

preamble
Hello everyone and have a great Friday! Today we are announcing the SW19 lineup and who will be competing in the highly anticipated Men’s Singles Final on Sunday.
First up is defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, ranked third in the world and coming off a French Open victory, who is looking to reach back-to-back Grand Slam finals for the first time in his career.
Nearly every tennis fan around the world was hoping for a rematch of the hard-fought battle between Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros, but world number five Daniil Medvedev lived up to those expectations by beating the Italian in five sets in the quarterfinals.
But fear not! There’s always a French Open rematch, with Lorenzo Musetti taking on Novak Djokovic. Having never made it past the fourth round at any Grand Slam, Musetti will be hoping to learn from his mistakes and beat Djokovic. The world number two advanced straight to the semi-finals after Alex de Minaur withdrew from the quarter-finals due to injury.
