Jenna Ortega joins the cast as Lydia’s daughter Astrid Dietz. Horror is not a new genre for Ortega. She starred in both the 2022 film Scream and 2023’s Scream VI, as well as the Netflix television series Wednesday.
Another new cast member is Justin Theroux, who plays Rory. Details regarding Theroux’s character have not yet been announced. Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe will also appear in the new film. In an interview with Variety, Dafoe revealed details about the character he will play in the film.
“I play a police officer in the afterlife, so I’m a dead person,” the “Spider-Man” actor told Variety in 2023. “And when I was alive, I was a B-movie action star, and then I had an accident that sent me over the edge.”
“DANGER ZONE”, “STAYIN’ ALIVE” and other hit songs created specifically for Hollywood movies
The 1988 Tim Burton film tells the story of Barbara and Adam Maitland, played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin, who are turned into spirits after they unexpectedly die. When a human family, the Dietzes (played by O’Hara, Ryder, and Jeffrey Jones) move into the house, they decide to kick them out and call on Beetlejuice to do so.
