Winona Ryder Opens Up About Her Past Crushes and Current Relationship

Winona Ryder is now content with her boyfriend, Scott McKinley Hearn. However, as she navigated her career in Hollywood, she had a few noteworthy crushes. In a recent interview, she shared an amusing story involving Christopher Walken, who once gifted her a rotisserie chicken she had purchased herself. Ryder noted, “I still have a wishbone and I’m trying to make it a necklace.”

They worked together in the 2014 political thriller, “Turks & Caicos,” during which Ryder experienced a bit of starstruck fascination. She admitted in the interview that—while she didn’t clarify her feelings about Walken—she had a significant crush on Al Pacino when they worked together on a project early in her career. “I was absolutely in love with Al Pacino,” she recalled, recounting their time doing a workshop for “Richard III.” At the time, she had no idea it would turn into a film.

Ryder mentioned how Pacino loved to explore New York City coffee spots with her. Reflecting on one memorable moment, she said, “Finally, he drops me off wherever I’m staying. I was like, ‘I love you, you know. I really love you completely,’ and he was like, ‘Oh, honey, no.'” However, their relationship remained amicable, leading to their collaboration in the 1996 film “Looking for Richard.”

With a laugh, she recounted how, a decade later, she met Pacino’s younger girlfriend, highlighting the passage of time and the changes in their lives. “Hey, I was throwing myself at you,” she joked about her earlier feelings for him.

Now, at 53, Ryder is happily committed to Hearn, whom she met at the premiere of “Black Swan” in 2010 when he mistook her for Milla Jovovich. “I thought it was the most fascinating thing in the world,” she said, reflecting on their initial encounter. Ryder described being upfront with him, saying, “Listen, do you want to go on a date?”

She considers Hearn like a husband already and they are planning to marry soon. He also impresses her with his culinary skills, as she shared, “He has this gift my mother had. It makes healthy food delicious. He made a better curry last night than I’d ever had.” It’s evident that Ryder has found a special partner in Hearn, while amusingly looking back at her past experiences with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
