The Wisconsin Legislature will introduce a new commission modeled after the federal Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was created to reduce “wasteful spending.”
State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R) said she will move toward the same goals in the Badger State through the Government, Oversight, Accountability and Transparency Commission (GOAT).
“I think we can look at a lot of ideas and find a way to get the government to do a better job than it currently does,” Vos said in an interview Wednesday. milwaukee journal sentinel.

DOGE co-chairs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have already submitted their proposal to members of Congress and President-elect Trump, along with harsh criticism of the proposed interim measures.
Their recent posts on X urged Republicans to vote against the bill in the wake of the impending government shutdown.
The Wisconsin GOAT Commission will likely follow in their footsteps and chart a new course for efforts to reduce government spending.
