Wisconsin Couple Found Dead Just Days Before Anniversary

A couple from Wisconsin was discovered dead in their car shortly before they were set to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Authorities from the Harvard, Illinois police department reported that the tragic scene was uncovered on October 6, when an officer spotted a car parked with hazard lights on. Upon inspection, both individuals were found deceased inside the vehicle. The McHenry County Coroner’s Office later identified them as Rachel Dumovich, 29, and Brandon Dumovich, 30, residents of Sharon, Wisconsin.

According to police, both had gunshot wounds, and a firearm was located in the vehicle. Details regarding the circumstances of their deaths remain sparse, although the McHenry County Major Investigation Support Team has been called in to assist with the investigation.

Following the discovery, nearby residents were advised to shelter in place. Fortunately, the police have since reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat.

Couple’s Background and Relationship

This couple had a long history together; they were childhood sweethearts who met in middle school. Rachel once shared a nostalgic memory of how she first caught Brandon’s eye by playfully stealing cologne from his locker. They maintained their friendship over the years, reconnecting romantically in 2022.

Brandon proposed in the summer of 2023 at Big Cedar Lake in Slinger, Wisconsin, and the two married on October 12, 2024. Just hours before her untimely death, Rachel took to Facebook to reminisce about happier times, posting about her wish to return to Greece, likely reflecting on their honeymoon.
