Wisconsin mother says she stabbed her daughter to 'protect' her from Elon Musk

A mother in Wisconsin is accused of fatally stabbing her 14-year-old daughter and claimed that she did it to protect her from Elon Musk, a well-known tech billionaire. Tyce Oninski, from Turtle, Rock County, called the police on March 20, confessing to the crime that took place the night before, as outlined in a criminal complaint shared by local authorities.

During a roughly 13-minute call, Oninski stated she killed her daughter, Clen Lane, to “protect her from someone else,” specifying later that this was, in fact, Musk. It’s quite difficult to wrap your head around such a chilling rationale.

When first responders asked if he needed an ambulance, Oninski pointedly requested a hearse instead, saying, “She’s dead, honey. She needs a hearse.”

Upon arriving at the home, police discovered Lane’s body with multiple stab wounds, alongside a knife and sheath positioned nearby. Meanwhile, Oninski had inflicted cuts to his own neck and wrists during an apparent suicide attempt.

Authorities also noted partially bare footprints in the residence, and blood was found on Oninski’s left foot. Apparently, when she was hospitalized following her confession, tests revealed she had benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and THC in her system.

There’s a strange juxtaposition here; while she was in the hospital, she seemed curious about her story’s media coverage but was disheartened to learn it wasn’t mentioned. It almost feels surreal, the way reality unfolds sometimes.

A GoFundMe page was created to assist the girl’s family after this tragic incident, and as of Tuesday evening, the campaign had raised over $17,000. The fundraiser emphasizes support for the young boy grieving the loss of his sister, describing the situation as “devastating and unthinkable.” The fundraiser aims to help cover funeral costs and provide some relief during this harrowing time.

The message goes on to honor Lane, highlighting that she was “deeply loved and will be missed immeasurably,” urging that her life be remembered with dignity and respect.
