Wisconsin Woman Charged with Shooting Former Co-worker
A woman from Wisconsin faces serious charges after allegedly killing a former colleague in what authorities believe to be a politically motivated act.
Diamond Wallace, 31, has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and illegal possession of a firearm, based on court documents. Reports indicate that Wallace shot 61-year-old Kristin Jones in a parking lot as she headed to work.
This tragic event took place on March 22 in Madison, Wisconsin.
According to a criminal complaint, Wallace and Jones previously worked together at the same hotel before Wallace was terminated in April. It seems that just before the firing, Wallace was accused of damaging Jones’ tire.
The complaint also noted that Wallace had labeled Jones a racist and was upset about her support for former President Donald Trump. Furthermore, complaints had been filed about Wallace’s work ethic prior to her dismissal.
“Wallace has accused Jones of racism and expressed frustration over her Trump support,” read the complaint. Additionally, some hotel staff reported that Wallace had blamed Jones for her job termination and had made threats against her.
The Dane County Republican Party, located in Madison, issued a statement condemning the alleged murder as a “deliberate and targeted act of violence.”
They highlighted that such violence doesn’t happen in a void; rather, it thrives in environments where political and personal dehumanization becomes prevalent. “Disagreements should never morph into justification for violence,” they stated firmly.
In their statement, they implored the community to avoid turning this tragedy into a political argument, emphasizing the need to recognize the humanity in each other. “This tragedy revolves around a Dane County woman who lost her life. All residents should recommit to treating one another with dignity and respect.”
Court filings indicate that Wallace is currently held on a $2 million cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set for April 14.
