Rebecca Lobo Calls Out Referee’s Missed Foul in WNBA Game

During the WNBA game on Sunday between the Indiana Fever and the Dallas Wings, Rebecca Lobo expressed her frustration after a referee failed to call what she deemed a clear foul on Caitlyn Clark. This happened early in the first quarter when Clark was being closely guarded just beyond the 3-point line.

Lobo highlighted specific moments where JJ Quinerly from the Wings was physically defending Clark, noting, “There’s a grab, there’s a hold, there’s another grab. So they’re all fouls. Everything about them is one.” She emphasized the need for more attention to these fouls throughout the match.

Debate around how Clark is treated on the court has been ongoing since she joined the league in 2024. Over her rookie season, she faced significant physical play, which included serious injuries. This season, Clark has struggled with injuries, limiting her appearances; Sunday’s game marked just her 12th.

In the match against the Wings, Clark performed impressively, contributing 14 points, 13 assists, and five steals in only 25 minutes, shooting 12-for-4 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from three-point range.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Clark noted, “I thought playmaking was really good. When we have five people in double digits, it’s pretty hard to beat.” Indiana clicked well on offense, moving the ball effectively and demonstrating a strong team dynamic.

Ultimately, the Fever triumphed over the Wings with a score of 102-83.
