The details surrounding the staffer—whether she was affiliated with the Mercury, the Mortgage Matchup Center, or the media—are unclear. However, she accidentally stepped out from behind a curtain at precisely the wrong moment as Wilson was sprinting onto the court.
Wilson, who stands at 6-foot-4 and has an impressive history of achievements including three WNBA championships and four MVP awards, made quick work of the surprise encounter, sending the staffer tumbling backward onto the floor.
A collective gasp rippled through the onlookers, and Wilson paused, visibly startled, with her teammate Chelsea Gray sharing a similar expression of disbelief.

Wilson topped the scoring chart with 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, achieving her third consecutive WNBA scoring title by averaging an impressive 26.2 points throughout the season.

Las Vegas is in pursuit of its fourth championship in five years, a streak interrupted only by the Liberty’s title in 2024.
