Cameron Brink, a star player for the Los Angeles Sparks, is not a fan of team tryouts for male practice players, and wants them to be gay.
It is not unheard of forcing the crime of an athlete to compete with a female basketball player. Sparks did that with USC players. However, with tryouts open to the wider group, with nasty comments from future players and some tedious comments about how Brink and fellow Sparks star Kelsey Plum going to deal with, Brink, the man, is concerned about the motives of male practice players.
“All the comments are like, 'Cameron let me back down,' or something about Recare or Kelsey. I said.
She added, “Who trusts us to come to this gym?”
Brink also said the newcomers will affect how they practice.
“I'm not boxing anyone. Lin. [Roberts]our new head coach, she will scream me out to not rebound. But I'm not boxing anyone. ”
Practice against bigger, faster, more powerful male athletes certainly can help sparks. But if Brink and other Sparks players are too worried about someone bumping into them and trying to do something they don't practice properly, everything can backfire.
Brink is Sparks' most popular player. Team managers may hear her concerns and force change. Tryouts for male practice players will start in a few weeks.
