WNBA team reportedly undergoing evaluation due to assistant's contact with former player

The Seattle Storm is once again under investigation, this time regarding their coaching staff, as reported by WNBA reporter Khristina Williams. The league, along with its security team, has kicked off inquiries allegedly connected to a past player. It’s worth noting that this follows a previous internal investigation in December.

According to reports, a complaint has been made against an assistant coach, with claims that they had been disrespectful towards this unnamed player. However, a response from Annie Costabile of Front Office Sports suggests that those familiar with the situation have termed the claims “inaccurate.” Interestingly, this complaint appeared after a recent game against the Las Vegas Aces.

The Seattle Storm reached out to the league for comments regarding these developments, but no immediate response was given. Last year, the team had employed an outside lawyer to dive into allegations of bullying and harassment within the coaching ranks. Fortunately, that investigation concluded without finding any workplace misconduct violations.

In February, Coach Noel Quinn of the Storm expressed confidence in the organization’s approach during such troubled times, emphasizing the high level of communication and support felt by both the staff and players. She stated, “I believe the organization has done the right thing. It’s important to take the right steps in this way, and our organization did that.”
