Hegseth said the immediate focus is implementing an executive order issued by Trump. This ordered the elimination of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the military, the ban on the military due to gender discomfort, and the revival of expelled troops. It left a mandate for the Covid vaccine.
