An 87-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car in a “freak accident” in Brooklyn on Wednesday, police said.
Police say the elderly woman thought she had parked her blue 2013 Toyota Corolla in her driveway, but just before 3 p.m., she drove the sedan into gear in front of a home on West 10th Street in Gravesend. It is said that he left it there.

“She walked behind the car and the car rolled over on top of her,” an NYPD spokesperson said.
When police responded to the scene, they found the victim with severe head and torso injuries.
Paramedics rushed her to New York University Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, but she could not be saved.
Police did not release her identity Wednesday night pending notification of her family.
