A third shocking attack occurred in Central Park late Friday night. Police say three teens attempted to rob a man at gunpoint.
In the latest attack, armed robbers, believed to be 14 or 15 years old, approached a 25-year-old man at 110th Street and East Drive around 10:12 p.m. and asked him to hand over his iPhone 11, police said. .
Police said the boys fled without taking any of the man’s belongings.
The latest armed robberies include a woman who was sexually assaulted at a park at West 97th Street and West Drive, and a man who was attacked by three gunmen as he was taking pictures of a lake in the park Friday morning. Police said one of the robbers pointed a gun at the 41-year-old man’s head, and the other two both punched him in the face.
They then stole an iPhone 8, iPhone 13 and wallet from the man and drove off down the bike path on a moped, police said.
According to authorities, the sexual assault occurred around 7:20 p.m. Thursday when a molester attacked the woman, grabbed her arm and demanded that she “give me back my phone, give me my wallet and have sex with me.”
He then punched her in the face, knocked her to the ground and took her iPhone 11, police said.
According to police sources, the man fondled the woman’s breasts with his arm and told her he wanted to have sex.
The violent man, described as 5 feet 9 inches tall with short curly black hair and wearing all black clothing, escaped but has not yet been captured, police said.
The woman refused treatment.
Police said it was unclear whether the attacks were related and investigators were searching the park for video footage.
