Woman grabs 4-year-old at Miami airport and won't release the child

Woman’s Airport Outburst Recorded on Video

A woman was filmed having a confrontation with Southwest Airlines employees at Orlando International Airport during a chaotic standby situation.

Early Tuesday, at Miami International Airport, a woman from England claimed she had taken a 4-year-old boy from his mother at a security checkpoint, and wouldn’t let him go.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Alvina Omishiri Agba is facing charges related to custody interference, along with two counts of battery.

Reports indicate that Agba approached the boy’s mother, who was trying to comfort her crying son, and offered to help.

After taking the child, Agba allegedly left the line and walked away, despite the mother chasing after her and asking for the boy back. Agba reportedly insisted, “No, this is my child.”

In a desperate attempt to retain the child, Agba wrapped her arms and legs around him, blocking the mother’s efforts to reach her son, pushing her away and holding on firmly.

A bystander, identified as Neylet Montano, intervened. He grabbed the child to prevent any harm, while Agba shouted about giving the boy back. Several men tried to keep Agba from reclaiming the child.

Eventually, Agba managed to escape but was apprehended later at the airport’s security checkpoint.

After her arrest, Agba told police she recalled seeing a wall decorated with rainbows and believed that would calm the child. She mentioned something about her mother bringing her children there as well, but she was unclear on the specifics of her actions afterward, adding that she felt compelled to do it by a higher power.

Authorities confirmed that Agba was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when taken into custody. The Sheriff’s Office was approached for comments regarding the situation.
