Golf’s loudest hole went into serious trouble Friday during the second round of the Waste Management Open.
A woman was taken to the medical center after falling from the stands on the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale.
The incident occurred in the late afternoon, and authorities cleared the bleacher area near where she fell.

Authorities said the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, ESON said.
The Thunderbirds, a civic organization organizing the event, said in a statement that officials “responded quickly at the scene and immediately provided medical treatment to the injured fan, who was then safely transported to a local medical center for further testing.”
“The WM Phoenix Open is working closely with local law enforcement, fire, medical and medical authorities and the PGA Tour to deploy emergency forces strategically throughout the tournament venue to quickly address health and safety situations.” said in a statement. “We respect your medical privacy and will provide additional details if necessary.”

The 16th hole is known for its loud crowd and inevitably heavy drinking, but it is unclear whether the victim was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the fall.
This hole is the only hole in professional golf that is completely surrounded by stands, and seats approximately 16,000 fans.

Play was postponed several times due to both bad weather and darkness, with some golfers unable to start the second round until Saturday morning. At the time of publication, Sahith Segala led the tournament with minus-13 points.
