Pennsylvania Nurse Accused of Fraud Using Multiple Identities

A 39-year-old woman, Shannon Nicole Womack, is facing serious charges in Pennsylvania. She’s accused of using fake documents and around ten different aliases to secure employment in nursing. Court documents show she’s been charged with forgery, identity theft, procurement fraud, illegal computer use, and other crimes that jeopardize patient care.

Womack allegedly posed as a registered nurse and licensed practical nurse in various healthcare facilities, apparently securing jobs through staffing agencies while presenting forged credentials. Interestingly, she also created a fictitious limited liability company, as reported by the Pennsylvania State Police.

In April, state troopers pulled over her while she was driving a Mercedes-Benz and discovered she was using false IDs. This led to further investigations, revealing she had been linked to around 20 aliases and had multiple Social Security numbers.

Sources believe that Womack’s fraudulent activities began in 2020 and she may have continued across several states in the eastern U.S. The reasons behind her actions are still unclear, though reports indicate she also stole drugs from medical facilities.

A representative from Pennsylvania State Police commented on the case, saying it’s quite remarkable due to its broad scope, extending across multiple states. As the case progresses, more insights into her motives might emerge. They noted the ongoing issue of medication theft is particularly concerning.

Meanwhile, police are urging healthcare providers in Pennsylvania to check their employment records to assist in this ongoing investigation. Womack’s aliases used various combinations of her name, highlighting how extensive her deception was.
