A violent incident involving fans was captured on video during the Rams’ victory against the Texans on Sunday.
This altercation occurred inside SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, though the exact timing is unclear as it seemed to coincide with game action on the field.
The four-minute clip features a woman in a Texans jersey engaged in a heated exchange with another woman in a Rams jersey and a man wearing an Aaron Donald jersey—who was somewhat caught in the middle of the dispute.
At one point, female Rams fans pushed the female Texans fans, while male Rams fans also intervened to keep the Texans fans from confronting the women again. Male fans in Texans jerseys attempted to pull back their supporters as the chaos unfolded.
The two women were still going at it before the Rams fan shoved the Texans fan once more. In a pretty tense moment, the male Texans fan ended up spilling beer on the Rams fan.
Things escalated when a man in a Rams jersey, cap, and with a child in tow threw a punch at the male Texans fan.
Although the brawl seemed to calm down momentarily, the crowd continued to yell at the Texans fans. Then, out of nowhere, the woman in the Rams jersey swung back, landing a punch that left the Texans fan bloodied.
Eventually, security arrived to manage the scene, and the injured woman was visibly hurt, with blood all over her face as she expressed concerns about safety.
Fans wearing Texans gear were ultimately escorted away to the concourse.
A representative for the Rams and Inglewood police has not yet commented on the incident.
Such violent scenes, unfortunately, have been becoming more frequent in NFL stadiums lately, suggesting a troubling rise in fan aggression.
Earlier this month, three men were arrested for misdemeanor assault following a violent altercation among Arizona fans at State Farm Stadium.
Another video that surfaced during the NFL’s opening weekend showed Giants fans being attacked by Commanders fans outside Northwest Stadium.
Additionally, some Bills fans received an indefinite ban from NFL Stadium for hitting two Ravens players in the helmets during a celebratory moment.
