A woman was arrested on suspicion of throwing a red liquid into Vice President Kamala Harris’ motorcade during a campaign trip to Phoenix.
Anasilvia Gomez Zamora, 30, was taken into custody in connection with an incident that occurred near 7th Street and Southern Avenue on Friday around 6 p.m.
She was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, endangerment and resisting arrest.

Phoenix police said the woman was standing on the sidewalk near where the motorcade was traveling and threw a red liquid. The liquid landed on eight Phoenix police officers on motorcycles.
“Motor officers were able to continue the convoy as it continued its route. Other officers in the area were able to locate and arrest the female offender,” said Sgt. Phil Krinsky told Fox 10.
Police said the liquid was determined to be non-hazardous.

Gomez-Zamora was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on Saturday but has since been released.
Harris is in Phoenix to campaign for her “Fight for Reproductive Freedom” tour, which supports abortion for women in the United States, and will be in Arizona for the fourth time as vice president.
