A healthy baby boy was born at an Arkansas Golden Corral restaurant to a mother who didn’t know she was pregnant, and the all-you-can-eat buffet got more than she bargained for.
Tayvia Woodfork was having lunch with her family at a restaurant in North Little Rock on May 4 when she started feeling sick to her stomach, her mother, Tameka Woodfork, said. Said today.
The 26-year-old woman said she was somehow 37 weeks pregnant, despite not gaining weight or feeling any fetal movement.
What Tayvia experienced is known as a “hidden pregnancy”, a rare medical occurrence in which a woman shows no signs of pregnancy.
“There were no signs,” Tameka said. “I had no idea.”
Tayvia spent more than 10 minutes in the bathroom crying in pain.
“I said, ‘We have to go to the hospital,’ but she couldn’t move her legs so I ended up calling 911,” her mother recalled.
Shortly after paramedics arrived, Tayvia gave birth to a six-pound baby boy at the restaurant and named him after the place where he was born.
“Well… I want to introduce Tamar Kairon Coral Woodfork. It was completely unexpected,” her mother wrote on Facebook. “Who would have thought I would give birth to a healthy 6 pound baby boy in a restaurant bathroom, but I thank God it was a safe delivery.”

Golden Corral also joined in the birthday celebration, posting on their Facebook page, “Welcome to the Golden Corral family, Tamar! You’re the new record holder as Golden Corral’s youngest fan!”
“Don’t worry, while your mom is taking care of you, we’ll make sure she’s taken care of with a Golden Corral gift card,” the restaurant said.

“We were there when she gave birth!! We said you should name the baby Golden!! Congratulations,” wrote a restaurant patron.
Both mother and child are doing well, and Tayvia celebrated her newborn son’s one-month birthday with a precious photo.
