We knew President-elect Donald Trump's victory would change the Biden administration's failed policies, but it's hard to imagine that that would include Americans' sex lives (“Yes to Don? No to sex!”) November 9).
Author Georgia Worrell points out that women who voted for Vice President Kamala Harris are refraining from having sex with their partners because of her loss.
Conversely, Trump supporters may be enjoying a resurgence in their bedrooms.

gun violence
NYC Teen Magazine says there has been a 42% increase in children arrested for guns in New York (November 11th).
The city has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.
So it's clear that gun control laws do nothing to stop bad guys.
Since 60 to 75 percent of NYPD arrests in Midtown are of recently arrived immigrants, it's not a huge leap to see where the problem lies.
I call on Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams to work with President-elect Donald Trump to restore law and order and remove those who come to this country to steal the American Dream rather than earn it.

ferry millionaire
Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander demonstrated why New York City is heading toward bankruptcy by giving staten island ferry workers exorbitant retroactive pay to win union support ( “Ferry Tales” November 10).
The ferries carry about 20 million passengers a year, but operating costs have ballooned due to soaring salaries for workers, some of whom earn seven-figure incomes.
With Mr. Lander's “open checkbook” campaign style further depleting the city's coffers, it's no wonder taxpayers are fleeing the city in droves.
There was once a saying on Wall Street: “You can be a bull or a bear, but never a pig.”
This idea seems to have been drowned out by oligarchic ferry workers and ignorant Democratic politicians.

smell the coffee
Republican City Council member Vicki Palladino's opinion piece is helpful, but she, like many other Republicans, believes that left-wing politicians want to make society better (“Wake up, Democrats!'') Post Opinion, November 9).
Can't progressives understand the mess they're causing by complacency on crime, poor public education performance for high-needs students, drug abuse, criminal activity, high taxes, etc.?
These are reasonable questions, but it is a misconception to believe that left-wing progressives care about them.
What they really care about is power.
Political correctness is used to gain and maintain power.
What is right today will be wrong tomorrow.
It's just a tool. We make the mistake of thinking that they want to improve society.

class has been dismissed
I'm not sure whether I read it with humor or sadness about how college students were given the opportunity to skip class after Trump's victory. New York City Offices Rushed (November 9).
First graders should be required to read about “Greatest Generation.”
The young men who lied about their age and fought in World War II for this country must have wanted a safe place, but the trenches were that big.
God help us if today's students are our future leaders.
