Danica McKellar Celebrates 51st Birthday with a Natural Selfie
Danica McKellar marked her 51st birthday by posting a no-makeup selfie on Instagram over the weekend.
“This is 51!” she captioned the photo, where she sported a red flannel shirt and a cross necklace, her wavy hair cascading down. She emphasized that the look was all-natural, stating, “No makeup, no filters, just positive lighting, a healthy lifestyle, and more importantly, feel as much as possible.”
The former “Wonder Years” star shared how she spent her special day with family, working on puzzles, exercising, and even taking a dip in the ocean. She added, “Dinner is almost here.”
Feeling grateful, McKellar expressed, “I feel blessed beyond words today!!” She also shared an interesting math tidbit: “51 is not a prime number. 3 x 17 = 51,” a nod to her numerous math books, including her latest work titled “I Love You 100.”
Several celebrities sent their birthday wishes her way. Mario Lopez simply wrote, “HBD Danica!” while Candace Cameron Bure added a more enthusiastic “Happy Birthday Danica!!” with a fire emoji, praising her beauty both inside and out.
Last year, McKellar discussed her health routine with Fox News Digital, revealing that her approach to staying fit involves prioritizing healthy foods. “My secret is that I don’t eat dessert or anything unhealthy until I’m full of something healthy,” she explained. “Once I’m full of something healthy, I’ll eat a few more bites. But I don’t want to be hungry when I’m eating something unhealthy.”
Interestingly, she mentioned that she doesn’t really set New Year’s resolutions. “I don’t know why,” she pondered. “I think it’s because every day I just try to resolve to be the best person I can be, to do what God wants me to do, and to continue to listen to God’s guidance,” she reflected in a past interview. “In fact, one of the themes of my Christmas movies is listening to God.”
McKellar described her diet as “very boring” and highlighted that her top health tip is staying hydrated. “I don’t really drink alcohol. I don’t drink coffee. I don’t drink soda. I certainly don’t drink anything with artificial flavors or sweeteners,” she remarked. “I think those things are bad. They actually mess up your body more than just consuming sugar— which is really bad for you. So I try to avoid all of that.”
A few days prior to her birthday, she shared snapshots from her New Year’s Eve celebration from years past, captioning them with some nostalgia. She donned a sparkly black flapper dress, while her husband, Scott Svesloski, looked dapper in a white tuxedo and black bow tie. “I mean, it’s the 20s, right? And we love any excuse to dress up, haha! We hope you all get some rest and have a great start to the new year!” she said.
Among the photos, she also shared a fun moment featuring her teenage son Draco at a previous party, dressed in a suit and sporting a rather bushy fake mustache.
