‘Would Be Completely Inappropriate’ to Ask to Talk to Doctor Who Examined Biden

During CNN’s “The Situation Room” broadcast Thursday, Hawaii Gov. Josh Green (D) said that President Joe Biden had undergone a medical examination, but that none of the governors who met with Biden yesterday had asked to speak with Biden’s physician or get more information, “because that would be completely inappropriate. We as Americans do not ask for access to other people’s personal medical records.”

Moderator Pamela Brown asked: “Did anyone at the meeting ask to speak to his doctor or get more information about his health?”

Greene responded, “No, that is completely inappropriate. We as Americans do not ask for access to other people’s personal medical records. The Governor should not do that.”

When Brown interjected that they were talking about the president, not a private citizen, Greene replied, “Oh, sure, but state governors aren’t going to ask for his medical records, so that’s not how it works. And he’s had medical exams. People are going to judge presidents, former presidents. You can be frank with me, if you like. I mean, sure, he has emotional moments sometimes. He’s 81 years old. But an 81-year-old sometimes stumbles and gets ahead of himself, because that’s just Joe. And underneath that 81-year-old brain, he has a very sweet personality, as opposed to his opponent, who has a vicious personality underneath.”
