Rep. Carol Miller (R-West Virginia) said in an ad that former state Rep. Derrick Evans, whom she hopes to nominate in the primary, has received a “zero” rating from the NRA. I claimed this, but this is false.
Mr. Miller issued an attack ad against former state Rep. Evans last week. Among the many claims is that “Democrat Derrick” is “rated ‘zero’ by the NRA.”
Jacob Rubashkin, deputy editor of Inside Elections, pointed out that the ad makes incredible claims attacking Evans as a Democrat.
“Evans was sentenced to three months in prison after pleading guilty to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Naturally, Miller secretly defunded the police and attacked him as a supporter of trans Democrats. ” Rubashkin wrote.

NRA Director-Elect and NRA Lifetime Commissioner Dennis Fusaro issued a written statement regarding the controversial Mirror ad, saying, “Derrick Evans is rated A in the NRA. Carol Miller’s claim that Derrick has a zero rating is clearly false because the NRA does not give a zero rating. This is obviously a fabrication by her consultant. ”
Evans explained in an interview in March. Breitbart News Saturday Host Matthew Boyle says Miller isn’t even a “RINO,” he’s an “illegal Democrat.”
Miller joined 100 other House Republicans in voting for the $1.2 trillion “minibus” spending bill just hours after it was announced. West Virginia’s Republican incumbent also refuses to endorse former President Donald Trump.
Evans said of Miller:
There was definitely enough information in advance to know not to vote for this bill.There was funding for abortions and transgender surgeries for minors, and there were laws and issues surrounding red flags with firearms. In pursuit of guns, we funded the Green New Deal. That means paying $850,000 for Egyptian university tuition and a gay senior room. It’s hard to believe that we’re even having this conversation right now, but that someone who is supposed to represent one of the reddest districts in the nation would actually vote for this particular bill. Even more incredible.
