West Virginia Governor Jim Justice’s “Baby Dog” stole the show at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday, when the governor’s pet English bulldog made an appearance onstage.
When Baby Dog came on stage, the audience heard “Baby Dogg!” they yell and cheer.
Baby Dog was then made to sit in a chair next to the podium where Justice was sitting on stage.

“I know a lot of you guys would love to meet my little buddy, so if Baby Dog could come over here,” Justice Said Before Baby Dog left the stage, he said from the podium, “You really weren’t expecting this right now with the whole world watching, were you? But with that said, let me just say this: She keeps smiling, and she loves you all.”

This isn’t the first time Justice’s 4-year-old English bulldog has made headlines: In June, Baby Dog was featured in the “Beneath the Golden Dome of the State Capitol” mural, which also featured former President Abraham Lincoln and Civil War soldiers.
Babydog was also the unofficial mascot for West Virginia’s “Do It For Babydog” COVID-19 vaccination drive. program.
