WWE Backlash 2025 results: Jeff Cobb joins the roster

Jeff Cobb made a significant entrance into the WWE scene on Saturday at the Backlash Premium Live event.

He disrupted the fatal four-way match for the US Championship that featured Jacob Fatu, La Knight, Damien Priest, and Drew McIntyre. As Knight focused on Fatu, Priest took out McIntyre in the audience.

In a twist, Knight attempted to set Fatu up on the announcer’s table, but Solo Sikoa intervened just in time. When Knight turned his attention to Sikoa, Cobb launched an attack, targeting Knight near the barricade.

He relentlessly slammed Knight into the ring post several times before throwing him back into the ring. Fatu, regaining his composure, gave Cobb and Sikoa a long glance before continuing with his opponent.

There’s been ongoing speculation about Cobb’s entry into WWE programming, especially with the condition of other wrestlers like Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa being sidelined due to injuries. Sikoa has been supportive of Fatu’s quest for the US championship, and Cobb may serve as a valuable asset in this pursuit.

The 42-year-old Cobb has made quite a name for himself in various wrestling promotions, including Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro Wrestling. He has also appeared in All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor, being recognized as one of Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s top 25 wrestlers in 2019.

Cobb is anticipated to join the SmackDown roster.
