Tiffany Stratton’s First Pitch at Mets Game

It seems Tiffany Stratton might want to stick to wrestling. The WWE Women’s Champion took the mound during the New York Mets game on Thursday afternoon, ready to throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Dressed in a Mets cap, City Connect jersey, and proudly displaying the Mets title belt, the 26-year-old Stratton aimed from the standard pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. She certainly made an impression, though perhaps not the one she intended.

With Mets relief pitcher Danny Young behind the plate, even some of baseball’s greats might have had trouble catching the throw Stratton sent flying—an errant pitch that sailed high and, quite dramatically, landed near the backstop. A chorus of laughter and groans erupted from the crowd as she shouted her signature catchphrase, “It’s Tiffy Time.”

Young, seated and ready, clearly wasn’t expecting the ball to soar so far off course. It was an unfortunate yet memorable moment for Stratton, adding to the list of notable—if not perfectly executed—ceremonial pitches.

Interestingly, she’s not alone in the club of memorable first pitches. Former NFL player Taylor Lewan also had a notorious toss earlier this week at a St. Louis Cardinals game, which he later described as “the worst day of my athletic life.” He remembered it humorously, noting an encounter with former President Trump where they joked about that very throw.

For both Stratton and Lewan, their real strengths lie in other areas. Let’s face it: not everyone can throw a baseball like a pro, but both are certainly stars in their respective fields.
