WrestleMania 42 Location Change
It seems WWE has made a significant change regarding WrestleMania 42. Originally, they had planned to hold the event in New Orleans, but that has now shifted.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a board member of TKO and a pro wrestling icon, had previously announced that WrestleMania would take place at the Caesar Superdome on April 11 and 12, 2026. However, a recent statement from the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, in collaboration with TKO, revealed the updated plans.
Walt Leger, the head of New Orleans & Company, mentioned discussions with tourism and sports officials about potentially bringing future WrestleMania events to the city, emphasizing a desire to build on other events already scheduled in New Orleans.
For now, Money in the Bank will still be hosted in New Orleans in 2026.
TKO Holdings, WWE’s parent company, decided to host WrestleMania at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for a consecutive year following the success of the previous event. Reports indicate that WWE’s new leadership wants to gauge fan reactions to the Las Vegas venue.
Last month’s WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium turned out to be the most profitable and successful event in WWE’s history.
Personally, I find this trend a bit disappointing. It feels like every year should bring a new city to maintain that unique essence of the event.
