Goldberg Bows Out After Final Match Against Gunther
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg put everything he had into his last match against Gunther, aiming for the World Heavyweight Championship during the main event on Saturday night. However, the outcome didn’t go as he hoped.
This match took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta and marked the end of Goldberg’s storied career in professional wrestling. Gunther had been a formidable opponent, having previously bested Goldberg, which added intensity to their final showdown.
Goldberg was welcomed by a raucous crowd eager to see him in action one more time. But Gunther, clearly at the top of his game, made quick work of dodging a spear attempt, which led to a brief setback for the referee, Judge Charles Robinson.
Seizing the moment, Gunther managed to yank off Goldberg’s knee brace and use it against him. Yet, just when it seemed like the match was veering completely in Gunther’s favor, Goldberg summoned his last reserves of strength. Upon Gunther re-entering the ring, Goldberg capitalized with a spear and followed it up with a jackhammer. He went for the pin, but Gunther barely escaped, kicking out just in time.
From that point, Gunther took control and locked Goldberg in a sleeper hold. Unfortunately for Goldberg, he ultimately succumbed to the move, resulting in Gunther being declared the winner.
After the match, as the excitement faded, Goldberg expressed his gratitude to family, friends, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Earlier in the night, WWE fans were shocked as La Knight triumphed over Seth Rollins in a surprising twist. Rollins seemed to suffer a knee injury, prompting a brief pause for medical attention, but he gave it another shot only to lose the match quickly to Knight.
Meanwhile, Solosicore retained his United States Championship against Jimmy Saw, while Randy Orton managed to roll past Drew McIntyre, aided by Logan Paul. McIntyre tried to land a final blow with a Claymore but fell short.
Orton, along with Jerry Roll, looks to set the stage for a potential tag team showdown with McIntyre and Paul in the near future.
