Glenn Jacobs Critiques Biden Administration’s Immigration Policies
On Monday, Glenn Jacobs, the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, who’s perhaps better known as Kane from WWE, took a sharp jab at the Biden administration’s immigration approach, likening it to the theatrics of professional wrestling.
In a post on X, Jacobs made a striking analogy. He said, “If I were a pro wrestling promoter aiming for maximum attendance, I’d make entry free and offer unlimited pizza and beer, even if it led to bankruptcy.” He then added, “And that, folks, was the Biden administration’s immigration policy.”
Interestingly, President Trump’s hardline immigration stance is credited with his victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race. Recently, the Trump administration celebrated a notable decline in border crossings, claiming a year marked by “zero releases” at the southern border.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed statistics indicating that April saw Border Patrol making 8,943 arrests at the Southwest border—a significant drop of 94% compared to the average during the Biden administration. The arrests were 96% lower than the highest peak recorded in December 2023 and lesser than the total arrests made in just three days in April 2024.
As the 59-year-old Republican mayor, who began his term in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022 (though he can’t run again), Jacobs is now rallying support for Betsy Henderson in the upcoming elections. Henderson is set to face off against Democrat Bo Hawke as early voting approaches later this month.
Jacobs has drawn a parallel between Hawke and New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani, suggesting that “Knox County has its own Mini Mamdani running to replace me as the next Mayor.” He urged constituents to remember to vote for Henderson and the Republicans, implying that complacency could endanger their chances.
Notably, Jacobs has shown support for Trump and received backing from the White House earlier this year in May.
