WWE Announces Survivor Series: War Games in Houston
WWE is making a bold move for the second consecutive year by scheduling one of its major premium live events at a Major League Baseball venue. The company revealed on Monday that Survivor Series: War Games will take place on Saturday, November 28, at Daikin Park in Houston, the home of the Astros. This follows the success of last year’s event at Petco Park in San Diego, which is where the Padres play.
“Houston is the perfect host city to celebrate this milestone chapter in the storied history of Survivor Series, and we look forward to partnering with Houston First and the Houston Astros to deliver an unforgettable event,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, in a statement.
War Games has become a highly anticipated match format in WWE, featuring teams of wrestlers competing in a unique structure. Since its revival in 2022, it has received significant attention and excitement from fans.
This year’s event is especially noteworthy, considering the shocking moments that have unfolded in previous shows. For instance, CM Punk’s unexpected return to WWE after the last show in 2023 sent ripples through the sports world. Additionally, Randy Orton’s return during matches kept fans on their toes. Last year, a mysterious figure interfered in a War Games match, tilting the victory to The Vision and his group. What surprises await at the 40th event? It’s hard to say.
“We are proud to help bring the world’s leading entertainment brands to Houston for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend,” remarked Michael Heckman, President and CEO of Houston First, the organization teaming up with WWE to host the event.
“WWE Survivor Series will bring thousands of passionate fans to our city and have a significant economic impact on our local community. Houston has a reputation for providing world-class entertainment events, and we look forward to welcoming the WWE Universe to our destination,” he added.
