Wyndham Clark Banned from Oakmont Country Club

The Oakmont Country Club has decided to prohibit former US Open champion Wyndham Clark from their premises following an incident during the 2025 US Open. In a letter to its members this week, the club explained that Clark had, in a fit of rage, damaged a locker at the prestigious Pittsburgh golf course.

“We understand there have been inquiries about the situation involving Wyndham Clark and the subsequent actions being taken,” the letter stated. “After discussions with the USGA and our Board, it has been determined that Clark is no longer welcome on the property, effective immediately, until further notice from the Board.”

The conditions for any potential return include compensating for the damages, making significant donations to a charity chosen by the Board, and completing anger management counseling.

After the incident in June, images of the damaged locker gained considerable attention on social media. Clark, who struggled with his game and missed the cut after shooting an eight-over par, later expressed regret for his actions.

“I let my anger get the best of me. It was a wake-up call, really. Life is good, and I know it’s not entirely about golf, but sometimes I lose sight of that,” he reflected. Clark, the 2023 US Open champion at the Los Angeles Country Club, emphasized that he feels like he’s on a better path moving forward.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Clark has faced scrutiny for his temper on the golf course. He previously had an outburst at the PGA Championship in Barhalla, where he threw his driver in frustration after a bad shot, injuring his hand in the process.

Meanwhile, JJ Spaun emerged as the champion of this year’s US Open, delivering 18 impressive birdie putts.

Looking ahead, the US Open is set to return to Oakmont in 2033.
