Wyndham Clark Banned from Oakmont Country Club
Oakmont Country Club has confirmed reports that Wyndham Clark is banned from its golf course properties. This decision comes after Clark, who won the Los Angeles Country Club tournament two years ago, expressed his frustration regarding the lockers at the club.
Social media has circulated a photo showing significant damage, with the bottoms of two lockers appearing severely impacted.
In a letter, John Lynch from the Oakmont Country Club addressed the situation, stating, “Some of you have asked about the situation related to Wyndham Clark and the measures taken in response to his recent actions. After discussions with the USGA and the OCC Board, we’ve decided that Clark will no longer be allowed on OCC properties.”
The ban remains in place unless the Board reevaluates and decides otherwise. Lynch also mentioned that if Clark compensates for the damages and makes a “meaningful contribution” to charity, he could have the ban lifted, provided he undergoes counseling as well.
Earlier this year, during the PGA Championship, Clark accidentally damaged a T-Mobile sign while playing, which prompted an apology for his actions.
Interestingly, Clark isn’t the only golfer feeling frustrated; Shane Lowry publicly expressed his discontent with Oakmont, reportedly saying, “F–This place.”
In another incident, after a poor shot, an Irish golfer tried to voice his frustration but accidentally damaged some audio equipment in the process. It’s funny how these small moments, whether during a round of golf or in the clubhouse, can sometimes overshadow the big wins.
