Windham Clark got hot at the right time, and without some professional help, this may never have happened.
It’s been a solid 12 months for Clark. He competed in the Wells Fargo Championship last May, but had only nine top-10 finishes and zero wins. Well, he won that tournament and also won the U.S. Open the following June, helping the U.S. Ryder Cup team qualify.
He carried that success from last year to this year. He won the weather-shortened event thanks to a course record third-round 60 at Pebble Beach in January. If it wasn’t for the red-hot Scottie Scheffler (and his heartbreaking gaffe on Sunday’s The Players), he might have won back-to-back weekends this month.
According to the PGA website, Clark has more than $23.5 million in career winnings, more than $18 million of which has come since last season. But it took some serious work for him to get to where he is now.

Clark’s mother died of breast cancer while Clark was playing at Oklahoma State, and his career didn’t start the way most expected (his first championship came at age 29, when he lost to fellow student Jordan). Spieth won multiple majors at age 21), but the walls started to cave in.
But as Netflix’s “Full Swing” highlighted, Clark reluctantly began seeing a sports psychiatrist. Since then, “it’s been an amazing journey.”
“In golf, I was so focused on results and accomplishments. I didn’t get the results, but now I’m focused on improving myself and growing mentally on and off the course,” Clark said. Told. . “Now I am getting the results and results I want.
“It’s an interesting dynamic and I really enjoyed it, because now I’m really focused on the process and not the result, which makes life more enjoyable for me. Even on the track now. “It’s great, and it’s great off the track. I’m really happy that I was able to work on it and try to get better mentally.”

However, Clark admitted that he hasn’t seen the “Full Swing” episode, so it’s not in his plans. “I know exactly what’s going to happen,” he joked, adding that he’s never comfortable listening to himself talk.
“Maybe in the future. When I have a dark day and I need something to cheer me up, something to remind me, maybe I’ll look at that and get motivated. ” he says.
But for now, he doesn’t need much motivation. As you can see from his recent performance, he has a pretty good ability to get heated. He attributes that to all the effort he puts into the mental side of such a grueling sport.
“When things are going well, I keep it going,” he says. “I think a lot of it is a testament to all the work I’ve been doing on the mental side of things. When you feel positive vibes and all the good things, just keep doing it. I’m going to keep telling myself.” “Good things are going to continue to happen, and I’m going to keep making putts. I’m trying not to put a ceiling on myself and just let it go. It’s been kind of fun lately, because when you get on a run like this, it’s easy to hit the hole. It looks big and I feel like I can get a birdie on any hole, so it’s a lot of fun.”
It doesn’t hurt to drink a little bourbon on the course.
Clark recently partnered with Blade & Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey to give fans a chance to win a round against the pros at “The 19th Hole at Blade & Bow.”

Windham Clark celebrated with a Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon cocktail on February 28th at the 19th hole clubhouse in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.
PGA golfer Xander Schaufel says Jay Monaghan has a ‘long way to go’ to regain trust.
“I’ve always enjoyed bourbon,” he said. “I’ve been able to drink, so I’ve always enjoyed it. Ever since. I’ve always liked a nice drink, and after fishing or after golf, we always had it around the fire. Blade and beer. I was really excited about that.” I got a call from Bow and they wanted me to branch out into golf.
“Their idea was really great: to bring bourbon to golf and make it a drink that you can enjoy, summer or winter, after playing golf, after winning, after socializing with friends. That’s what it is.” “The great thing about bourbon is that you can drink it in so many different ways and enjoy it with different people and in different atmospheres.” I’m really excited about this partnership and can’t wait to see what the future holds. Hopefully it turns out to be a great long-term relationship. ”
And if things go his way, he’ll have an insane amount of blades and bows on the night of April 12 if he wins the green jacket at the Masters.
Understandably, he’s pretty confident he can beat Augusta National.

“I don’t think I’d change much. I’ve been playing good golf and I feel like my game is suited for Augusta National,” he said. “I’ve got to be in a good position for my game, time my game right, and then just hope I can handle the moment. I’m very excited to be in there, but hopefully I’ll get a chance.” “I hope so.” What’s on Sunday’s back nine? ”
