Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray begins campaign for U.S. House seat

Wyoming Secretary of State Launches Congressional Campaign

Chuck Gray, the Republican Secretary of State in Wyoming, has declared his candidacy for the state’s at-large seat in the U.S. House for the upcoming 2026 elections.

His announcement follows Rep. Harriet Hageman’s decision to seek a Senate position, as she will not run for re-election to the House after GOP Senator Cynthia Lummis opted not to pursue another term.

Gray is the first prominent Republican to enter the House race, presenting himself as a strong advocate of the “America First” conservative movement, aligning with Hageman’s and former President Donald Trump’s objectives.

In his support for Hageman’s Senate campaign, Gray emphasized the need to continue promoting the “America First” agenda.

“I’m running for Congress to continue fighting for Wyoming’s way of life,” Gray mentioned in a press release. “With Congresswoman Harriet Hageman running for U.S. Senate, Wyoming needs a representative who will build on her strong record, advance our shared Wyoming values, and continue the Trump agenda, which has delivered the largest margin of victory in the nation in three straight presidential elections.”

Since taking office in 2022, Gray has initiated new election integrity measures, like requiring proof of citizenship for voter registrations and ensuring that illegal aliens are removed from voter rolls.

“When political insiders abandoned President Trump, I didn’t flinch,” Gray said. “I stood with the President and the American people, because in this country, it’s voters who decide elections, not radical leftist attorneys.”

In his campaign video, Gray expressed firm stances on various issues: “Drug smugglers — treat them like terrorists. Liberals who want to impose their views on Wyoming — not on my watch. Illegals flooding our border — we will deport every single one,” he declared. “I’ll always fight for our values, protect our working families, and support our energy industries.”

Additionally, former President Trump had endorsed Gray in his 2022 campaign for Secretary of State, calling him a “Powerful Champion for Election Integrity, Energy Independence, Strong Borders, and Fighting Crime.”
